I have been having issues with low alkalinity. I cranked up my
calcium reactor and it upped my calcium and helped alkalinity some, but I still had to buffer my alkalinity to keep it in the acceptable range. .
I finally tested my water change water today and it was about 1.5 dKH.
So I finally found the culprit for my alkalinity issues.
I have been using Kent salt for over a year.
I bought two 200 gal buckets in the power buy for February.
I had a reserve, so I didn't start using one of these buckets until a couple of weeks ago. I haven't lost any corals yet, but I have definately noticed some loss of color in my SPS. I stopped my auto water changes today.
I did some searching on RC and found this thread.

If you are using Kent salt check it for alkalinity.
I'll be calling Kent on Monday.
Cheers
