GDAY!

Thanks for the Kind words.

Just painted white, i dont like working with starboard.

Yeah, we now have a Sequence Dart for the CL.

I Like your Skimmer choice! however, I would rater a BK 300ext.

Great meeting, Thanks for the Frags everyone! They are all glued to boston plugs, and in the 50g.

Call me an elitist, but a setup that nice really needs a deltec skimmer on it.

Ya know - I'm thinking the indicator wheel on your electric meter never slows down. I'm sure mine doesn't.

Our grand plan for the Atlanta tanks over the Australian Summer Break included:

combing the 20g softie tank,

One of the members (green clown goby)

the 25g Seahorse tank (2 H. erectus, 3 H. reidi, and one H. comes),

and the mixed 46g…

Skunk Clown

Some of the corals

…Into two tanks: the Ultimate Seahorse Heaven with a variety of soft corals and peaceful tankmates to accent the seahorses and pipefish, and a drool-worthy 50 gallon cube, filled with only the finest, most colorful corals (SPS and LPS) and fish.

Before becoming a strictly soft coral tank, the 46 was a mixed reef and Kayla's first saltwater tank that she set up almost 3 years ago.

Here are a few more pics:

The tank had a 10 gallon sump, 175w Ab 10k and 2x95w URI VHO lighting, Aquamedic Turboflotor Multi skimmer, and a cansiter filter for running carbon (the worst decision Kayla ever made!).

Kayla's seahorses are very important to her. She started off with two H. erectus that soon had babies...time and time again. Here are some pics of the fry:

Later, she was fortunate enough to be given four more seahorses: 3 H. reidi and one H. Comes (see original post). Although they all continued to do well housed together in a 25 gallon, the tank was not big enough for 6 seahorses (and a mandarin).

The new 46 switched from a combo of halides and vho to 4x39w (AB) T5s. All SPS and LPS were moved to a temporary tank that was lit by a 250w HQI 10k + 2x24w T5 AB, which would become the lighting for the cube (as seen below):

It was messy business, But after a night's worth of work and pools of saltwater everywhere, the tank was finally reassembled.

Here are some more pics of the endeavour:

AND...fuel

Kayla wasn't too thrilled with the state of her bedroom afterwards, but it was worth it...

After a Few Hours....

The two bulkheads next to the overflow (longer tube) are all drilled in the bottom panel, and will feed one 6500 OR each (Changed to one Seq. Dart). The Overflow pipe (main) connects to a durso inside the overflow box.

The very long tube at the bottom is the Spare overflow, just incase the durso can't keep up/ gets clogged. The cross is the output for one of the CLs. The Water change Bulkhead is in this pic too.

The other return for the CL (just two holes) and the Return from the sump.

Hope that makes sense!!!

Josh

Return line fitted with 3/4" flex fitting. The 1" Hard PVC pipes are a great fit for 1.5" Flex... Wooden Base plate is cut.

Water changing tap, with 3/4" Flex tubing. (Takes water from the Overflow Box)

OR 6500 pump connected (Seq. has arrived, and im sit setting that up)

Cheers

Kayla had some RO parts laying around (from a friend), it was a AquaSafe system, but had no tubing, and old membrane, DI, and old tubing.

So, I basically took out all the old filters, removed the old tubing, washed out the housing, and ordered new parts -Thanks Powerbuy!(all the John Guest type connections). I was ready to build the dream system....

The RO is few via faucet mains water, and before it gets to the RO, there is a ball valve.

The water goes through the 3 housings, holding 5micron sediment and two carbon filters, after that a (red) TDS reading for the Duel TDS reader. It’s reading 30ppm, once this starts to goes up, the sediment filters need to be changed.

Then a pressure valve gives a PSI reading (before it goes into the membrane). The next step is the heart of the Auto shutoff (ASO) system, a switch that is only open, when there is free flow (ie no backpressure) for the two inputs (doesn’t use electricity or mix the water).

Then the water goes through a 75GPD filmtech membrane, with a 98% rejection rate, the waste water goes to a flush switch, and then runs through black tube to the drain. The cleaner water goes through the ASO switch again, and then into the blue tube, here is another ball valve.

The blue tube goes to a colour changing remote DI unit, and then finally another TDS reading (reads 0ppm).

I ordered LOADS of tubing, and have connected a 30g RO container, with a float switch (once the switch closes, the back pressure shuts down the water supply to the RO membrane- no waste water). This means the System can be run 24/7 and the container will always have spare RO water. This container is sitting in an unused bath, and via a bulkhead, feeds the Salt Mixing tank.

But there is more!
The Good water is T’d and white tube runs to both the new 50, and 46g tanks, both with the their own float switches and manual ball valves for fully Auto Top up!

Cheers
