Kalk reactor

I'm in the process of adding an auto top-off system to my tank right now. I would also like to add a kalk reactor after I have the auto top-off set up. I've read that you can feed the kalk reactor using your top-off water, but I’m not sure how this works. I'm going to explain what I’m confused about and hopefully someone can shed light on my problem.
I know the kalk reactor can be set to mix at certain time(s) of the day and it's best to dose kalk at night to help balance the pH. To only dose at night I guess I would need to put the water pump for the top-off system on a timer. The problem I see is that most of the evaporation occurs during the day while the lights are on right? This means that the first time the top-off system runs at night, it will refill the sump with all of the water lost during the day. This also means it will dose an extremely large amount of kalk water at one time. I'm sure this could be a huge problem, so I’m trying to figure out if there is a way around this.
Do I forgo only dosing at night?
It seems as if my tank evaporates around 2 gallons a day. Can I over dose my tank with Kalk by adding this much in one day?
Tell me how some of your systems are set up.
Thanks in advance.

i would dose all day vs. only at night. this will help stablize everything and keep a consistent tank.
to know how much it would affect you tank to dose kalk we need to know the size of the tank and what all equipment you have on it.
refugiums can help with stability of PH as well by running them on a reverse light cycle of the tank.
as far as how to hook up the reactor it depends on what type you have. if you just have a dosing jug like Kent makes then they have an IV style dripper on them. if you have a nielson then you will need to follow manufactures directions. if you have a diy from a filter canister then it gets filled via ro then to tank/sump with a float valve. some people use dosing pumps too.
it depends on how you go about it really......

I have a 72 gallon bowfront RR tank. The total water volume is 80-85 gallons. I do have a small intank refugium running but i'm not sure if it's that effective.
