Just a thought

This may be something the club would like to look into doing at some point. AMDA (American Marine Dealers Association) has set up a fund to allow more netting to be sent to the Phillipines to help keep collectors from reverting to using cyanide. The netting material is fairly cheap for us and will go a long way towards improving the fish supply for the entire hobby, as well as moving it towards a more sustainble harvest to avoid any danger of reef depletion and the possibility of import bans being implemented. There is a lot of good information on that forum (The Industry Behind the Hobby), and I am on the BOD of AMDA so I will keep you infomed as events develop. If any are interested I'd strongly recommend you poking around in that forum, lots of interesting information.

What if every member just gave like 10 bucks? How many do we have anyway? I'd be willing. Also, does anyone know of any kind of volunteer activities that relate to reefing? My wife pays 500 bucks every year to go sleep in the sand and rescue sea turtle eggs!! If i could turn her on to something related to the reef cause she'd be a hell of an advocate.
