It was a dark and stormy night...
What a great meeting. Welcome to all the new members (post here and say hi if you are on line). Thanks to Sally, Doug, and Tim for great presentations, and to William for setting in up, and to Eric for finding the venue. Frankly with the weather the way it was, I was surprized to see such a good attendance - I don't think we could have fit any more in that room.
Did everyone have a good time?
Steve

Even though the meeting ran long, I liked hearing the presentations in sequence. I think most of the feedback from the last SIG was that people wished they could have heard more than one presentation, so this seemed to work out better. All the presentations were outstanding. I have some new tank envy going on with Tim though Thank you to last night's presenters!

I did have a great time. However, after seeing Tim's setup, I went home, looked at my tank and felt kind of depress. Great setup Tim.

That was a great meeting, I learn a lot from all the talks. I think that this is better to have the talks in sequence like it was. Great job!!!!

Tim proved the theory we hold in Project Management. Plan, Plan, Plan, Plan, Spend Money, Plan, Plan, Spend a lot more money, Plan, then build. Awesome setup.
Even though the meeting went kinda long it was a pretty good meeting. One new member walked away with a nano cube, sand, free corals and definatly some good information.

Another thing that I noted. Eventhough Tim has a big tank (300G-400G maybe) and as good a setup the money can buy, his tank still took a nose dive at one time when he overstocked the tank. So be patient, patient, wait awhile, take your time, and be patient.

Hey everyone. I was there for the first time last night and enjoyed it very much. I was one of the younger ones, with my girlfriend as well. It was nice to be able to put some faces to the names that I see on here and hear everyones presentations. Which meetings do you have frag swaps? Or do you just kinda setup the swaps with people before hand, and then at the meeting swap?
I still don't know what I am supposed to do to get a card, or officially be a "Member" though. I paid through paypal, Now what do I do?

Tyler: If you recently paid through paypal chances are I have not gotten your information yet because our Treasurerer is on vacation. PM or email me your address and contact information and I will put your card in the mail this weekend.
Thanks for joining and welcome to the ARC!

Tyler - thanks for coming!
As far as frag swaps, most meetings we have swaps - some are arranged before hand, some are impromptu. The only meetings we might not have an official swap is when we have the meeting at a sponsor store that sells corals. In those cases we try to be polite and do the swaps in the parking lot unless they let us know it is ok.

The meeting last night was cool. I got to met the Hitman. His system is amazing. I also got me some sand and a ro-di system so im very happy. I really enjoy this hobby, but having great people in the ARC really keeps me wanting to learn more and more. I think it safe to say im a fishaholic and my setup doesn't have water in it yet
Spending all my money on a reef hobby- a few thousand dollar
Finding something that I love as much as sports- priceless.
For everthing else theres master card.

It really was a great meeting in spite of the weather. With a little more time, Eric could have toured us around the museum, garden, forest, and fish ponds out back. Sometime we might get to visit his office, a classroom where every kid has an aquarium/terrarium/herpasomething sitting on their desk. The kids have access to digital conferencing over the internet and creek exursions outdoors. Fernbank was made available to us because Eric teaches in DeKalb & the museum is part of the DeKalb education system. Of course I enjoyed a previous friday night meeting at the IMax Fernbank location where they served chicken alfredo pizza and chocolate martinis!
Oh yeah, and everyone is envious of Tim.

I guess you didn't listen to the Hitman carefully. Master card alone is not enough. You also need cash, check book, visa, discover, american express, french express, korean express ...

From all the responses, it looked like another winner!
Sorry that I missed the meeting.
