Is this Coralline Algae?

I have notice some new stuff growing on my rocks. It's bright red and looks like coralline algae. It is much darker red than the rest of my corline algae and is growing straight out intead of growing over the rock. I was wondering if anyone can tell me for sure if it's really coralline algae or something else. Thanks, Curtis

The things sticking out look like sponges to me. The other red on the rocks looks like coriline. Is it hard?

They are called Foraminiferans http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/pages/pic..._foramred.html They're in the Delbeek & Sprung books. Filter/Detritus feeders and harmless. If I recall, they refer to them as a sign of a healthy aquarium.
