I used to run it on my 40 gallon, but went back to carbon for ease of use reasons. On the 180, I prefer a little ozone for 24 hours every other week. Clears up the yellowing and turbidity real fast.

I run three of the 100ml bags between partitions in my sump. Pretty easy to use - I don't run carbon anymore. I regenerate once/month.

It should tell you in the instructions to use bleach and water at a 1:1 ratio. Let it sit for 24hrs. Then use a dechlorinator, let it sit for 4 hrs. That will recharge it and also take out the chlorine left behind.

I use to run it in my 10g, but for some reason I threw it out???? I know occasionally pets mart carries the bag, least thats where I got my purigen from back in the day, and they had those bags there. Great stuff, might go pick some more up.

I run it all the time. I buy the ready to use bag. Take it out of the box, rinse and insert into the filter. I change mine every month even if it needs changing or not. Can't be to safe!

I use the purigen in my aquapod and nano. I will recharge a couple of times then replace with new bag. I buy the one in the bag not the one you fill yourself.

Used it in Nano's for a few years and will use it in my new Nano setup. I run my Nano's with just a HOB and no skimmer. Helps to use Purigen when not using a skimmer.

If it does what the directions say it does then the redox increase is worth the effort alone.

I used a 250ml pack in a Seachem "the bag" in my nano for years. Never darkened - I guess because there was so much of it. It certainly helped. The water quality was better after I started using it.

Now that the nano is gone, if anyone wants this 250ml pack and seachem "the bag" it's for sale - $7 shipped in a bubble pack envelope. Just send me a PM. I will not see a post here, so send PM.

PS: There's a simple trick to keep "the bag" from leaking. Just pull the string tight, fold the top over on itself, wrap the strings around the neck and tie. No loose beads.
