How hard is it to add MH to what I already have?

I am using 3 VHO lights now and wanted to add MH to it. I been asking around and have not got any answer so I thought I post it here.

I can move the VHO light closer, or even take 1 out to make room for MH, but what do I need and how would I go about doing that.

I never have problem with heat in the summer and I have 2 4INCH Icecap fan that I can put on the back of my hood to cool down the heat from MH if I need to.

try lookin around this site www.hellolights.com they have MH retrofit kits, and some reflectors will house the MH and your VHO's. What I think you would do is move two of the vhs close together and to one side, have the MH in the middle and then the other VHO on the other side. You could use two or all the of the VHO's as antitic and have a 10K MH, or which ever other setup you would like. Hope this helps a lil.

I'll go with

I would remove the one in the middle and replace it with the MH.

I would get a taller hood for more height for the bulbs and more fan room.

As Reggie said, I would remove the middle and replace with MH. My MH's are at about the same height yours would be at. What size tank is that? If it is 4 ft long I would do 2 of them.

Mhs get very hot it is not recommended any closer than 8 " from water surface if they get splashed they could explode, also you can use larger wallyworld fans in the hood if you have 7" of clearance, something you might want to consider.jmo.

If you raised it about 4" and added a few computer fans you could add a 250watt bulb
