Has anyone tried this med for ich?

I stopped by Posieden's Reef today. They told me that they use Seachem Metronidazole to treat disease like ich so I got some to treat my coral beauty. Right now I am soaking some red algae in it to feed to him. I really don't have a big enough QT tank to put him in so I'll have to treat him in the main tank. They assured me that it was safe for inverts. Has anyone tried using this medication? Here is a little info that I found on it.

I'm using it currently and in my third week. I feel like I've turned the corner and hopefully am in my last week. The photo period idea in the link is interesting and seems to have made difference in my case (see link).

I'd buy Seachem Focus which will binds the meds to the food. I'm also using garlic guard.

Good luck. I've also considered using Rudy's kick ick with the metron. By itself I've heard the Rudy's has a 25-50% success rate, but I was hoping this would increase in conjunction with metron.... , since Rudy's is supposed to kill the free swimmers and metron... anything that attaches to the fish. This would be a last resort for me and not sure if the two products are safe together.

Thanks Atlfishes this is very helpful. Do you know if it will hurt inverts, like cleaner shrimp, that eat the soaked food? Where did you get the Focus? I didn't see any at Posieden's Reef.

I'd call around to authorized seachem dealers. Seachem sent me mine directly, but that is not normal. I have a blood and cleaner shrimp that have been fine during the treatment.

I use it all the time and have had good sucess with it. When I get new fish for my tanks I always feed frozen foods soaked in Metronidazole just in case. Ive never had any problems from any inverts ingesting it either. Be sure to use the garlic to hide the taste and focus would be a good idea too.
