Good place to get nice frags?...

Hello all... I'm new to ARC and was just wondering where folks favor buying critters from?... I've been to alot of the LFS's in the area, but most of them are very limited in selection or outragously priced... I'm looking to pick up some nice colorful zoo's, galaxea, neon star polyps and possibly a torch. I'd like them to have alot of color though (probably sounds stupid-I'm sure that's what we all want) but it seems like the only stuff I really like is online or in pics of someones tank?... It's got me worried that some of the stuff I see online is doctored with PhotoShop or something to give it more appeal... Plus the whole shipping thing worries me.

If anyone has anything they need to frag or want to get rid of, I'm open to possibly more than what I have listed above.. I would much rather pay a fellow member for something I know has been taken care of, plus I'd like to get to know folks in the club...

Hey david, welcome to the club.
I picked up a nice med torch at nemo for $30, Had a 5 head one for $50
zoos if you want the basic bright green, i have a TON, would be nothing to frag a piece of it and meet you somewhere.
Nemo doesn't have a lot of corals but has some decent for the prices.
CBA has the absolute best frag tanks i've seen, Marine FIsh has a lot of nice coral pieces as well, Granted these are a trek from newnan. CBA and marine fish aren't far from each other. It's an hour drive for me to those 2 as well.
CBA seems to go the extra mile in making sure you'll be able to keep a difficult specimen when you're buying it though. At least, was the experience i recieved.

I drop by The Fish store and more today and saw some nice frag there.
Well I went there for a Aqua Lifter pump for my over flow. I end up buying an Devil Hand frag for $30 and no pump.

Robsmith... Thanks for the reply, $30 is about what I was looking to spend on a torch, unless it just blew me away when I saw it... I will probably take you up on the zoo offer if it's not too much trouble... Just let me know what your looking to get for them... Any pics?...

Thanks,
David

Wolfie,

Thanks for the info... Sounds like one of my trips to the LFS-Half the time I completely forget why I'm there for the first 30 mins...

I've been to the Fish Store & More, they had some very nice specimens, but the punk kid I talked to had a hell of an attitude which turned me off to them completely... It was a busy Saturday though...

How old are your tank?
I am sure if you can wait till our next club meeting you would be able to get more frag + save you a trip to here and there.

You may want to drop by Nemo soon since their Touch won't last long there with their low price. They have the best price when it come to fish. 20%-50% lower the most fish store that I went to.

3 of their fish are swimming in my tank for about 6+ month and 1 new Fox face are swimming and eating

Cappacinno Bay Aquarium always has the best Zoo's in town. I also have a big collection of Zoo's and have a few types that need fragging. This is also the best place for SPS frags as wekk. A very good variety starting at $15 and some get cheaper as you buy more. Some of the better colors are more expensive.

As far as Zo's I have a frag of nice ones with peach centers if you're interested and I also have some eagle eye zoos as well that need fragging. Best time/place for me to meet is at an LFS on the weekends.

This is what eagle eyes look like though this isnt from my colony my pics suck.

I'm not sure what the name really is or have a pic handy, i still have to pick up batteries for camera.
If you want can meet at nemo on wed sometime? That way would be same trip and you would know you'd be getting something.
What i want in return? just for you to return the favor when they grow back out for someone else. And of course keep up with the new tank conscientiously.

milhouse74,

Thanks for the reply... I love going to CBA-Like a kid in a candy store... I would love to pick up some of those frags from you, maybe we can set up something for this weekend?... Let me know... CBA would be good for me

Oh Yeah, incase anyone needed to know, Nemo now only has the 5 head torch left, I picked up their last 2 head for $30 last night ... Really nice folks, they even let my 2 little ones feed that huge puffer in their pond setup...

Welcome aboard Big D!!!

For frags, the best source are other club members. Be sure to send a request for frags out about 3 days before the next meeting. You'll find that a lot of members will be more than willing to part with a frag or two to help out someone new in the hobby
