Good Morning Everyone.
Well I swapped out my membrane housing and DI cartridges last night. I ended up with two leaking fittings so I ended up staying up till 3:00 am fixing that. Sounds like it should have been easier but have to wait till the unit cycles off in order to test the pressure fitting properly. Oh well I didn't want to get a huge amount of sleep anyway.
Yesterday there was only two replys to good morning.
Today this makes number three --- hey thats an improvement.

Maria: Don't put them too far down
Some folks and some manufacturers drill a tiny hole in the return PVC just before where it meets the loc-line. Water will spray (down) out the hole but it breaks the back-siphon if the power is cut off.

Loc-line is the black flexible pipe that most of us use for our water return. It is connected to the PVC return pipe, and can be manipulated to change the direction of the water flowing out of it.

Hey Rick -- that's 2 good morning threads going off-topic to off-topic, making them on-topic (reef topic - the other thread is on the main forum)
I'm sure I can hear the theme from Twilight Zone in the background.

LOL
Maria I would keep the opening of the return pipe close to the surface of the water to minimize the flow back into the sump. Regardless you're still going to get some syphoning back into the sump. For this reason the water level in the sump should be kept low enough to accomodate the extra water. Experiment with this while you're there to monitor it so that when you have a power outage you won't have to worry about a flood.
Does any of what I said make sense.
