Thanks guys. Im using a different approach to reef keeping this time. I will be using considerably less LR. Previously i had about 250lbs of rock and about 90lbs of sand. I got to a point where my tank was so full that i could not add anything i wanted to. I basically created a big boulder. I am much more patient now and will be slowly building my reef.

As far as lighting goes. I have 2 175w mh and a set of PCS i will be installing. To counter balance the rock I will be using a much more powerful skimmer and have a multi-chamber refugium.

Currenlty I have about 100G of ro-di water pre-mixed and ready to pou into the tank. Just need rock now. As it begins cycling, I will begin building the fuge.

Great to be back! Ive put down 65lbs of course crushed coral as opposed to 200lbs of fine sand. I want to minimize the sand storms that are an irritant to coral. Also, over time, the crushed coral disolves into calcium and i will keep on adding more. The sand doesnt go throught the same natural process and stays stagnant. just my opinion.

Bob, PM me on the specs of the skimmer. I am using a seaclone to cycle but need something more powerfull.
