Get off the 'puter and clean your skimmer!

It has been a long time since I cleaned my skimmer really good. It didn't seem like it was pulling the crud out like it once did... So, on top of the normal cup cleaning I do once or twice a week, I took the pump out and gave it a thorough cleaning. Wow. I already have more gunk in a couple hours than I had all last week.

Actually, I probably spent 4 or 5 hours today cleaning my tanks, doing huge water changes, and cleaning the the powerheads. That water is really moving now and the tank looks great... it makes a huge difference when I spend the time to clean all the equipment properly.

As long as the power stays on - it is amazing what an ice storm will do for our tanks!!!

My seahorse tank has a clean protein skimmer; clean sides; fresh water change; and more....

BTW - still looking for more volunteers for SaltWaterU!!!!!

Ditto here... Cleaned my skimmer, did water changes, rescapped both tanks... Now I wanna revamp my lighting circuits. Run mutiple timers to more accuratly simulate sun rise/set.

I've got to figure out how to thoroughly clean the beckett on mine. It just doesn't suck as much as it used to.
