FS&M Sale

I just got a card in the mail today from FS&M about a sale March 19-21...15%-25% off... Anybody know what kind of livestock they're getting in for this sale?

It doesn't say that you have to bring the card, but it does claim the sale won't be advertised "to the general public." Of course, I can't remember ever seeing/hearing FS&M publically advertise Or any LFS for that matter...

It doesn't appear to be a club event. Looks more like a "you-are-on-our-mailing-list-since-you-bought-something-here, so-you-get the-postcard" sale.

For that matter, despite being a ARC sponsor, I don't think they give an ARC discount, unless something changed in the last couple weeks.

I went not too long ago and was told that there was no ARC discount as well, that the talks hadn't completed.

I'd bring the card, just in case. Toss it in the car so you'll have it for the weekend. :-)

I agree that it's not a club event, but an advertised sale to their customers in their database.

As for the ARC discount, "My Bad". At last week's ARC general meeting I agreed that I would contact Bill or Troy of FS&M about our club's vote and decision made during that meeting to have our 10% discount apply on the 3rd weekend of the month.

I will ask FS&M to post their agreement to offer ARC members the 10% on the 3rd weekend of each month on TRT. Even so, I do not believe that the 10% discount would be applied on top of this sale.

I apologize that we may have caused some confusion or worse yet, some embarassment by not dealing with this sooner.

Bob

I just checked when FS&M last posted on TRT and since it was Nov, I won't send them a PM, but will call them tomorrow.

Can you also ask what kind of livestock they're getting in while you're at it?

Great news!

I spoke to Bill Appleton, one of the owners of The Fish Store & More (FS&M), today and I have great news for our ARC members!

The owners of FS&M (Bill and Troy) have agreed to allow current members of the ARC to have 10% off all of the time; not just on a certain weekend!

Effective immediately, the 10% discount would apply to all purchases, but would exclude the usual items that are excluded by our other sponsors like tanks and live rock, etc.

Bill said that they would honor this discount provided that the buyer presents their current ARC Membership Card at the time of purchase and that the buyer is the person named on the card.

I've asked Bill to have FS&M post on TRT in our ARC Forum the details of what their 10% discount will and will not cover. He agreed and said that Troy will post the details.

One more note: The 10% discount will not apply to items already on sale.

As for what they have, Bill said they have "tons of stuff".

Bob

Bumping this up so that members know that they get 10% off FS&M's prices since they are a sponsor of ARC.

ARC Member Discounts

Hello Aquatic Lifers, in this case, Reeferees! An invertebrates life is the only life for us, or so the tunicate said to the bony fish... but we’re dallying. Once again we want to recognize the great contribution a club like ARC makes to an advanced aquatic community and reiterate our support. Per a conversation with Bob indicating confusion on all our parts, we’ve decided to offer ARC members a courtesy 10% discount at all times rather than just the third weekend of the month. We hope this clears any confusion as to the whats & whys.

This ten percent ARC member discount will be handled similarly to our More Card holder program. It can be applied to any normally discountable item. It cannot be added to any other valid discount (for instance during our sales, as a few have mentioned above). It is also only offered to current ARC members who present a valid membership card to the cashier and it can only be used under that name (i.e., it is not transferable). That takes care of the hows & whens!

With that said, we welcome you as the whos!

Thank you FS&M way to step up! Your store is a great place to shop and I try to make the pilgrimage at least once a month and now you're buying the gas

I stopped by today and got a large colony of pink zoos. The live rock tanks where full and they definetly had lots of soft corals and fish stock in. Nothing wrong with a 25% discount so I couldnt complain. It was pretty busy for 3pm on a Friday.
