FS: Misc items

For sale:

Two 3/4" Sea Swirls, each with "Y" option - $100 / each. These guys are $159 new and the "Y: splitter is extra. They both work great, just don't need them for my FOWLR tank.

400 Watt MH setup. This is a electronic ballast with a reflector & a 20K Radium with ~ 9 months on it. This is an excellent setup for $125. For more info, here's where I got it:
(from champion lighting: http://www.championlighting.com/e/e...l&item=main:be4 )

Dolphin 7500 pump. Here's a great pump for a large tank. It's about 2 years old and runs fine. Needs new adapters to connect to 2" pvc (or you can have my old ones and try to work with the pvc attached to it). This pump was $400 new, I'm asking $150.
http://www.dolphinpumps.com/newpage2.htm

Original skimmer off my 180 gallon tank. This skimmer came from Aquarium Showcase with the tank. The crack in the collection cup has been fix & it runs great. It would need a pump like a large Rio or Mag. I'm asking $100 for the skimmer.

If someone wants to trade, I'm looking for a HOB skimmer for my quarentine tank (25 gallons) or a PC setup.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Chris

I'll take the 400W MH off your hands. I have to improve my lighting badly and this fits what I'm looking for.

I might be interested in the skimmer. I'd like to know what kind it is though. I tried to look at the pictures, but had no luck. I'm trying to find a 180 to set up, so it my be a good deal for me.

rgzfly - Honestly, I don't recall the name (brand) of it. If you go to either FS&M or Aquarium Showcase, you'll see (or used to) these guys. They've got a black box (base) with a round skimmer tube. This could either sit in a sump or you could have it external and then use tubing to go from the pump to the skimmer and then pvc from the skimmer back to the tank/sump. There's a gate valve that will control the height of the water / bubbles / foam in the skimmer tubeIf you want some additional pics, shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send some more (hopefully better) pics for you. Let me know if you've got some other / additional questions.

thanks,
Chris

Bob,

Let me see what RGZFLY does, might take you up on it though I've gotten a PM about someone selling a Remora though. I'm supposed to hear back from them too. As soon as I hear back from them, I'll let you know.

thanks,
Chris

Ray, the Sea Swirls are basically for the ends of closed loops. The beauty is that the motor isn't in the water like with a power head, etc. It sits above the water, then the motor drives an arm where the water will come out and "swirl" back and forth. The two I have, have the optional "Y" adapter, so instead of one stream, it splits it into two. Each 3/4" SS can handle ~ 750 GPH I do believe. What I did was had a closed loop and split the return and went to these two Sea Swirls (and a few other things).

I think Bob may be getting one, so there's at least one left and depending on a couple of deals, maybe both.

Let me know if you've got any questions, you can also look at http://www.sea-swirl.com/.

HTH,
Chris

Chris, I want one. I figure to use a good size pump, like a Mag 9 or so to get flow to the swirl, mount it in the center of my 75 gal and it should do fine. Plumb it through the wall from my sump?

Ray, I'll set one aside for you. :-)

As far as the plumbing goes, that would work as long as you are getting enough flow into the sump to replace what you are sending out via the Mag 9.

Can we meet this weekend or later in the week, I've got a crazy few days at the start of the week?

thanks,
Chris

OK, the skimmer is sold as is one of the Sea Swirls.

So, the large pump is left and one Sea Swirl.

Bob, great to hear it's doing a good job for you! I've not gotten as productive as you and hooked up your old skimmer, but will tonight to tomorrow.

Let me know about the Sea Swirl or just shoot me a PM or something.

thanks!
