Hi Folks,
I am selling my complete
55 gallon FW planted tank. I have a back condition and I can no longer comfortably take care of it.
I am asking $750 for the entire setup but will accept offers. I am motivated to sell it so if you are interested, please offer a price.
- I am selling the entire setup as one unit. I do not wish to sell it in pieces. You must come and pickup the unit yourself since I cannot help. I live near I-85 and Shallowford Exit in NE Atlanta, GA. The sale includes:
- Light Oak Stained Aquarium stand (laminated from PetSmart)
- One (1 year old) 55 gallon tank, no leaks
- One Coralife Freshwater Aqualight, 260 watts, 6500 K bulbs. Bulb use: about 6 months.
- Two 150 watt heaters
- One digital, 100 watt substrate heater
- Automatic CO2 injection system. Automatic in the sense it turns on the CO2 when the lights come on and turns off when the lights go off.
- Digital PH Meter that is about 9 months old and should last another 9 months.
- Two mini jets for circulation
- Marineland C-360 canister filter
- Digital thermometer
- One backup/emergency Marineland Bio-Wheel 400 filter
- All my supplies:
- 23 each of (7.0 and 10.0) PH calibration fluid (you are supposed to calibrate once/month)
- Filter floss
- Carbon
- Two hospital tanks (10 gallons each) with heaters, plastic decor, glass tops, and filters
- One full bag of Seachem Flourite
- Filter pads
- Emergency bubblers
- Food - frozen and dried
- Plant life
- Several swords, anuba, crypts, hydrocoytle, tiger lotus, and one plant I cannot recall the name of that's in the back.
- 2-3 inches of Seachem Flourite base
- Animal Life
- 4-5 Amano Shrimp
- 5 Bosemani Rainbows
- 3 Threadfin Rainbows
- 4 Neon Tetra Jumbos
- 2 Sterba Cory Cats
- 7 Small tetras that I forget the name of
- 2 True Siamese Algae Eaters (siamese capensis)
- A few good snails (they do not reproduce)
- CO2 System
- I have two 24 oz paint ball tanks. I fill them up at Sports Authority for about $3.50. They last about two months. I got two so I would always have one full on hand.
- I keep the PH about 6.7-6.8 with a KH of 4.0 and CO2 about 20ppm. This translates to about a 2 bubbles/second.
- Aquarium demeanor
- Plants thrive, I am clipping almost every week. With the CO2 at about 20 ppm and the plants grow like crazy. One could turn back the CO2 or even do without if you wanted less maintenance.
- Fish are active, no fish deaths in at least 6 months. Always hungry and they eat both frozen and dried food with eagerness.
- Snails are slowly dying off due to low PH. I keep the PH about 6.8 and it causes the snails to lose there shells and dissolve slowly overtime. Snails really need harder water and higher PH.
- GH about 3-5, KH about 4
I you email me I can send you a link with the pics. I am not able to post links or emails addresses in this forum. You can email me at: john at mysnmp dot org or call me.
