It sounds like frag trading sessions should happen more often.

Maybe we could do one meeting per quarter where frag trading, if not the focus of the meeting, is at least one of the scheduled activities. Thoughts?

Would there be any intrest in colts and mushrooms. I have two colts one very large and the other medium sized. I have been scared to frag the larger because I have heard the it is hard to get colts to attach. Could I bring the smaller of the two to see how it is done.
I would like to get some lps and sps to add to my collection are is the free frag going to be of this variety. I would like to join the club on tuesday night if possible.

So how long do these fragging sessions last?

As luck would have it, my supervisor came in yesterday afternoon and told me that I need to be at meetings in Atlanta on Tuesday, but I also need to get to Raleigh by Wednesday afternoon (driving). If it seems reasonable, I'll try to stick around long enough to join ya'll. Too bad I'm not coming straight home. I'd love to pick-up a frag or two, especially a green hammer.

Daryl, how long will you be on the road after the meeting (before you go home with frags...)? I won't presume to speak for Marine Fish but I'm sure you can get those packed for "mileage". A frag packed with oxygen and in a foam box is good for up to 48 hours as long as it's not exposed to extreme temperatures.

Cheers
Jenn

Definatly bring in the smaller one --- Rick or one of the other fragging volunteers will be more than glad to show you how it's done.

We are attempting to have one each of the following: an sps, an lps and a softie.

These will be fragged and given away to members. So please come and join and take home a free frag.

Also (read other post) let me know if your definatly going to be there and I will bring you a small sps frag.

And you can watch as I frag the frogspawn for the last time. Unfortunatly I have already prommised the two pieces out to other people. In the future when my 4 polyp piece gets bigger I will frag you off a polyp or two so you can have some of your original coral back.

Charles

Anybody interested in trading some softies for mantis shrimp (I hear some people like these things)?

I don't have any corals yet in my new tank, but I have one ~3.5 inch brown mantis and two ~1.5 inch green mantis's that I've caught in my live rock. Also a 3 to 4 inch black long spine sea urchin and a brown sea cucumber about 4-5 inches, if anyone's interested.

Actually, I'd love to attend some kind of session (be it a regular meeting or some other things) for people new to the hobby to kind of have a big Q&A with some of the more knowledgable ARC members. It'd be a good way for us newbies to get to know each other and compare notes as well as a chance to ask questions of those who are a bit wiser.

Thoughts?
