Frag plugs...

If anyone is interested, I have found a source for plastic frag plugs. Similair to the ones that some of the commercial places use to mount frags to. They fit very nicely into the "heavy" eggcrate that is used for commercial flourescent fixtures (it can be had at most lighting supply places and some HD and Lowes carry it). Pics of the plugs are below. More information can be found at my coral frag plug webpage. Please contact me through the webpage or off list if you are interested. Thank you.

What Don meant to say was that he has been scouring the earth to find a very difficult piece of convenience for those of you interested in propagating stony (esp Acroporiids) corals, as it makes prop'ping them MUCH more organized, the snails and fish can't tip them over, the current won't blow the frags away, and placing them in the final location is just a matter of drilling a hole in the rock where you want it (with a hand drill that you crank) and dropping the frag base in. Don is much too modest on this, as to purchase them, he has had to promise an arm and 4 toes to the distributor to get access to them...

GO DON!!!!

LOL Tom. I spent some time looking for them too, with no success. Mebee Don has found a way to supplement this hobbies financial burden. More power to ya Don. I like them.

I bought one frag from Jenn mounted on those. When I got ready to permanently mount it I cut off the bottom part and epoxied it into place. They cut very easily with a piece of hacksaw blade.

Tom are you going to make the Feb meeting? We're doing a fragging demonstration and could use your expertise.

I am to at this point, I am making arrangements to be off that tuesday and the following Wednesday.I may bring a few frags, possibly a head as well for fragging. I have promised a few3 folks some Southdown as well.

Not absolutely sure that I'll be there, but planning to if I can arrange my schedule!

Heh, I have a 500 ml bottle of Lugol's as well, might even mix up a big batch of dilute tip!

Just thought I'd bump this back up with the fragging demonstration happening at the next meeting.
