Feb 15th Meeting - Marine Fish / frag meeting

Our February 15th meeting will be held at Marine Fish & Reef, one of our sponsor stores in Marietta, GA. The meeting will start at 7:30pm.

The club will be sponsoring a frag meeting, where several large corals will be fragged. Everybody will be able watch and learn fragging techniques from the experts for different types of corals. Every member that attends will be entitled to at least one frag (quantity permitting, of course) to take home.

We will be fragging soft corals and hard corals, to include those will different tank types.

There will be door prizes, raffles, and an auction of a signed copy of Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman.

We welcome members and non-members alike; however, please note that only members will be allowed to take home frags. Non-members may sign up or renew at the meeting.

Please note that this meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb 15 at 7:30pm, not the normally scheduled Tuesday time, to allow for Valentine's Day.

Address:
1255 Johnson Ferry Rd NE
Marietta, GA 30068
Phone Number: 770-321-8404

This has always been a great meeting in years past, and I'm sure it will be the same this time around. Be prepared to go home feeling very satisfied as well!

For those of you who have not yet renewed your membership or joined our club, please do so before this weekend. I will be ordering membership cards from our printers and will have them at our upcoming meeting at Marine Fish.

Thanks!

Bob

Any members with any live rock rubble or plugs that they want a frag mounted on, feel free to bring it in.

It was a great meeting at a great sponsor store. Lots of smiles on new and old faces. I think it was the highest attended meeting to date - WELL over 100 people. The new tanks at Marine Fish were incredible - our sponsor stores keep stepping it up a notch every year - does anyone remember the days before MF, FS&M, AS, and Cap Bay??? Traffic was (relatively) light, the sky was clear, it was a beautiful warm mid-Feb day in a city with the largest Aquarium (which 70 ARC members get a FREE exclusive tour next month (Chris will announce details soon). Everyone went home with free frags (along with a large number of traded frags, sand, and algae, as well as raffle prizes and salt from the POWER BUY), and we locked in the last speaker for SWU2 (also to be announced soon). Two new sponsors and over twenty new members were added and we have a number of clubs in other states that want reciprocal relationships with us. We are getting people signing up for SWU2 from as far away as North Dakota.

I even finished work early enough to get Mexican food and a beer next door at El Toro (Manuel Managa's restraraunt) with the SWU2 crew before the meeting (the number of ARC members there for THAT meeting exceeded our regular total attendance at our meetings in 2001).

Does it get better than this?

Steve
