as far as what type of equipment? all of it? or just lights?

I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend on the light bill

Let me know if you need some frags down the road since you're right around the corner, depending on which of the 4 counties you live in

prolly something like this would work

http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewIt...product=EJ1119

You want about 3-5 watts per gallon is usually the rule of thumb. I think mine is a 150w and around 90g of water volume.

I tend to go on the less is more side since I don't want my tank to cook just in case something happened.

Best thing to do is get 2 lower wattage heaters and if one goes crazy, it's not strong enuff to cook the tank. Otherwise look into getting a controller.

Personally I think the Ebo heaters *in the link* are the best ones around- many people seem to like them and I've heard stories of them lasting 20 years. I don't trust any other brand.

"heaters and all that..."

Are you asking about total wattage for that tank on everything? I don't understand?

are you wanting to know how much equipment wattage you can have on a single outlet?

to tell you the truth i think all the skimmers on the market are good. In my opinion i think the skimmers that have gotten a bad name are the ones that are a bit harder to tune. Theres a lot of crap going around about the seaclone...its not all that bad. It just takes a long time/patience to get it right but once you do IMO its great....i have it on my quarantine and it does a great job. But for a good skimmer that has a good rep go with either a Coralife super skimmer or a Aqua C remora. I have the remora pro on my display and i couldnt be happier.

not saying a seaclone won't skim, but really look at size of cup for the 150? I know i was pulling more than that cup size out of mine. the tank that is, i chopped the seaclone for what it was worth.
I'd say a seaclone 150 would be ok on a 150L tank, not a 150 Gallon tank.
The remora pro i had would kill it on the 55g, I had once upon a time.

my main point is that they really arnt junk...they actually do work but not at the levels one would expect from such a high praised company as aquarium systems. But i do love my remora....im hoping to get another or at least a Coralife Super Skimmer for my 40 gallon that im setting up.

While I dont reccomend the Seaclone for a "beginner aquarist" I also run one on a 25gal (aprox 40gal total volume) with fantastic production! I think they will work depending on the design behind the system. Obviously putting a seaclone on a 75+ tank will do you no good whatsoever, but on a smaller "nano" tank, they do quite nicely.

as for my 0.02, go with the remora or Coralife for hang on... drop on a sump and your options go up from there
