Are any of you guys or ladies this person? Or know who this is? They are form Marietta. I am looking for a new light system to get rid of my hood.

Is this a good deal?

It depends on what you wish to keep in your tank. I have the Custom Sea Life version of this same fixture. It works great for softies, not at all for sps. I had to add halides to get the stonies....

It's for my existing 50 gallon tank. Just fish and rock. I have some corals. like candy canes, bubble coral, zoo's and the like. I have some sponges.

My lid is heating up the water, It was custom without consideration for air flow. So I need to build a new one with fans or just get something like this with fans in it and MOON lights!

I was looking at the 48" in LFS's but the lights, Metal halide were $700 and I know this isn't MH but I have the power compacts now and everything is fine in the tank.

Can I get this price anywhere? Or is this a good deal?

Thanks

Hi hess'

Do it work like the one at the site. with legs and fans, moon lites? Just wondering. I am pretty dumb about lighting. I know MD is the best, but I am not ready to blow $700 on lights yet. So sticking with the compacts is working good for me.

Any pictures of it? Cost?

email me

That's the price that many online retailers charge -- since the seller is local, you'd be ahead since you don't have to pay for shipping.

I bought my 75g tank from ebaeseller. Great experience, great guy ... definitely recommend him.

I didn't know a store was located there. Might try it this week. So the dude was ok to deal with then, That is good to here.

I don't remember if that was the same address, but when I bought from him, he didn't have a store -- his business is home-based.

Could be a home address. Part of Chimney Lakes sub division is Johnson Ferry Road.

Nah, it is a store. At least there is a picture of it on the inside. I will let you know. I figured someone may have visited it who lives in the area.

I will be the guinea pig.

Yeah. The YMCA is 3010 Johnson Ferry so it must be right about there.

I've bought from him. Yes, it is a store, but call first. His prices are good. I ended up buying several pumps while I was there. It's more like his distribution facility.

He told me he was eBay's number 11 seller - wow! He lists 10,000 current items.

Here is a slightly better deal for the same type of light... remember, taxes you have to pay locally can pay part of shipping...

T-5's put off the least amount of heat than any bulb in the industry in my opinion. I have had VHO, PC and now T-5...I see no heat issues with my 4 bulb setup and the bulbs are about 5 inches from the top of the water. I am going halides though....Just do it man...$700 is to high for halides...I built my whole halide system with hood for less than $300 bucks but I did swap my old 55 for a set of tar ballast. Though I belive t-5 to be the best florecent I have delt with...The halide will allow light to be strong at the bottom of the tank for clams...So basically I have used all this lighting and wasted a ton of money just for an $80 animal....
