Anyone else have a Deltec? I just bought a Turbo 1250 for my 37 and like it a lot so far. Here are some pics:

Skimmate pics. These are from three days, the skimmer has been on the tank for six days.

Definitely worth showing off! It's a beauty, naturally.

Great skimmer! And only 21 watts too. Nice! I'm impressed that its supposed to be good out to a high bioload 130.
Thanks for sharing the pics! Please post updates as things progress. I sure wouldn't mind putting one of those in my sump.
Congrats on having a very cool skimmer.
Cheers!

One other thing - have you had to do much in the way of fiddling or adjustments to it?

Thanks for the compliments, I really like it so far.
Dan, I figured out there is no point in trying to adjust it until it is broken in. In the beginning the bubbles were combining to make large bubbles at the top and small adjustments caused overflows, so I set it up as suggested in the manual and just let it run for three to four days. Now, I have found it to be very forgiving when making adjustments and very easy to adjust. I am still trying to figure out exactly what kind of skimmate I want, but I think once I find that there won't have to be any more adjustments made.

Thanks a bunch for the pics and feedback.
Can you tell us what those blue sponges are for?
Also, I take it that one red-handled valve is for air and is the only adjustment for the skimmer? Slick.
Is it as quiet as they say?

Where does the water come in and go out? What are the dimentions of the unit? Where did you get it? Thanks!

The first blue sponge is actually the top of a media chamber that you can run carbon or whatever in. The second one is to help keep micro bubbles from returning to the sump and must work well because I don't have any bubbles returning to the tank. You are correct that the red handled valve adjusts the air, but you control the water level inside the skimmer with the black handle sticking up between the sponges. It is attached to a wier plate inside. You can see it in the pic, in front of the main chamber, in the pic with everything taken apart. It is extremely quiet, my Mag return is louder than the skimmer. Also, the pump must be pretty efficient because my temp. has dropped two to three degrees with the only change being the skimmer.

I got it here: http://www.deltecusa.us/turboskimmers/turbo1250.php
The size is Length: 10.25" Width: 5" Height: 21.25" and the water comes in the left bottom side and exits on the right side. If you look here, on page two, it illustrates it a little better. http://www.deltecusa.us/docs/TurboSkimmers.pdf

WOW, Deltec is expensive. Looks like it will do a great job though. Expecially on a tank that small. You may never actually get alot of skimmate out of it.

I bet he will if dumps a can of spring water tuna in the tank.
Yea - they are expensive. Seems to me that you actually do get the quality and engineering you'd expect for that dollar, though.
Lessee, if I drop all the other hobbies and start living off of ramen noodles and cheap lunch meat, I could get that 702 with self-cleaning head eventually.
