December Power Buy: The Filter Guys
Directly from Jim and Steve (The Filter Guys):
20% off for the Atlanta Reef Club December Power Buy includes RO Membranes, DI resins, resin cartridges, Poly sediment filters and carbon block filters.
Your members can look at our site and e-mail us with questions and orders and we will send them an e-mail invoice which they can make a secure payment from by credit card or Paypal. They can also send a check or money order but will first need the shipping and handling charges which will be billed at cost in both cases.
THE FILTER GUYS
2721 EAST SUPERIOR STREET
DULUTH, MINNESOTA 55812
218 724-5477
http://webpages.charter.net/filterguys/index.htm
Also, the usual 10% off applies to non-filter media-related items (for example, they have in-line TDS meters for $35! Our 10% discount can be used for this item).
The Special Power Buy Price is good for orders placed by December 31, 2005. They already have excellent prices, so 20% off just makes the pricing that much better.
Enjoy!

Wow, that’s a great power buy, and something that a high volume of members can use. Consumables make excellent power buys. I don't recall, do emails go out regarding thepower buys? I am sure there are a lot of members that never hit the board as I am so used to seeing the same old names here. I am sure enough people could use this that it might be nice to somehow send out notice.

Good idea - I try to remember to put that in my e-mail flyer - but we are not too consistent. I will send it out in a day or so.

Good Morning from the filter guys wer'e going to have a white Christmas in Duluth..................................Minnesota that is!
Just wanted to up date everyone on power buy and sponsor orders. Were having a glich so we will no be able to invoice for payments on orders. Our payment processor can not handle discounts at this time. But we can accept direct Paypal payments and call you for credit card payments and process by hand no problem. E-mail us your orders along with a zip code and we will provide an order total and work out a payment process.
Jim & Steve

Ok, the pb mentions carbon block, but what about Catalytic GaC? Always paranoid that they will use chloramine.

OK we have it and we'll include it in the PB down toward the bottom of the page by the fill or with a refillable cartridge. We have the best grade possible for chlorimine removal the bio on it is below. We also recommend you array your filters differently http://www.thefilterguys.biz/filter_arrays.htm
Fahz
http://www.thefilterguys.biz/filters.htm
A premium grade granular activated carbon that is specially prepared for use in medical applications such as water purification for hemodialysis where the removal of free chlorine and chloramines are of prime importance. AGC-MG is a coal based media that is steam activated to provide a strong, dense product with an extremely high surface area. It has a high degree of catalytic redox activity which enhances chloramine removal. AGC-MG is superior to ordinary grades of activated carbon for chloramine removal. It is specially acid washed, pH buffered, and rinsed with sanitized water .

Hi Todd, don't feel that way it is confusing and were here to help. Does the system have one or two DI cartridges a cross the top? They don't show it on there site and some come with an inline carbon and an inline DI and some with two DI's. If the're both DI's they will be clear with resin inside. The next think is are they refillable ie. does an end screw off or are they throw aways?
