Cyclop-eeze

What the heck is it, and who has it locally? I heard FS&M, but is there anyone else? Marine Fish doesn't have it. Is it phyto like DT's, or is it something chunky that fish can eat too?

It is not like DT's..where as you can see it. It is freeze dried ( or frozen) copepods. Imagine Ocean carries the freeze dried. The place in Athens (Pet Shop?) carries the frozen. Iti s high in HUFA's and the fish/corals certainly seem to like it. Check out the website: www.jehmco.com

It is a really small granule. Basically a genetically engineered copepod. One bar will last you forever. Works well as an additive (really helps brighten the colors because of the high levels of carotenoids) in a frozen slushy, but (IME) a bit useless when used alone as a fish food because the pieces are too small. It could also be used as a coral food as well. We didn't really notice a huge difference in the corals when we used it.

i have been using it for six months dried, two months frozen...the frozen seems to be a better food.my fish rake through it i dont know if they are eating or playing...but it opens up many of the feeders and wakes the tank up.

The corals respond as well to it as any food I have added for them. Also, the clown fish goes nuts slurping up the little pods.

OK, sounds like it is out of the category of snake oil, and more into the category of "another-food-option", so I guess I need to try this stuff.

Here's another good website. Be sure to click on the slideshow.

FYI, I had to go down to Fish Garden for some tank drilling today. Found out that they have the frozen Cyclop-eeze also. I have it in the freezer now. Probably try it tonight or in the AM.
