CO2 Tanks... #20
I can get #20 CO2 tanks, used but still in date for $35 each. I'm going to be at the Calfo meeting on Sat and can bring them with me. If possible I need to know by 3pm on Friday, OCT 10 so I can have them for Sat. I'm currently using one now, he had them all sold but the buyer never showed so he still has some available. I believe I can up to 12 of them, maybe 15. If anyone is interested please let me know by tomorrow for Saturdays meeting. I won't be at the OCT meeting next Wed, I have to work, but I can still get the tanks (if anyone wants one and won't be at the Calfo meeting) and make arrangements to meet another time.
Don

That is a great buy. Three days ago I paid $120 for a full one.
And they only cost about $20 to fill.

How much time is left before they need to be tested again? Steel or aluminum?

Rick they are alluminum, but not polished or all new and shiny... lol I forget what mine had left as far as the certified date, I just traded it in for a filled one and paid the difference for the CO2, I think it was $15. When this one gets empty I will just trade it in on the next one, most welding supplies will do this.
These are from a restaurant supply that went under and they were bought by the manager of a local welding supply. If anyone wants a filled one, I can trade it in and get a filled one for the additional cost of the CO2. That would make them approximately $50 for a filled one. When I pick them up, I will get the ones with the newest certification I can. When I got mine, a few weeks ago, he told me that the pressure certification is good for 10 years. As long as your trading them in it really doesn't matter as long as they don't expire before the next time you trade it in.

Pye Barker is getting really expensive for refills. $23 for 10# refill.

Most of the shops here charge $15 - $20 (plus tax) to refill a 20# tank. When I bought mine it was approximately $15 after taxes for the "refill" on the tank. Actually all I did was trade the one I bought (it was empty) in on a "filled" tank and paid for the CO2. I know I had to call all of the local shops to find this deal. Most of the local shops wanted $80-$125 for a 20# tank plus the charge to fill it. None of them had any tanks smaller than 20# except for 1. That shop wanted $80 just for the 10# tank plus the cost to "fill" it.

Thanks for that info. I'm sure the other ARC members will appreciate it. I know I've had a coupleof people ask me where to get the tanks filled and I'm not familair enough with Atlanta to suggest anywhere to take the tanks. Thanks again.
If anyone else is interested in a tank I'll be home till 3pm and can be reached here or by phone, 706.641.9955

Don,
By any chance, can you still get any of these tanks? If so, can I get one before/after the meeting on Wed?
thanks,
Chris

Chris I do have another one but I won't be at the Wed meeting as I will be working. I can bring it to the following meeting or possibly meet you sometime between now and then. Pm me if your interested and we can work out the details.
