CO2 Refill - Latest Prices
Hello everyone:
Just like you have websites, blogs, and other internet forums where people post the "where, when, and how much" for things like buying gasoline, I figured I'd start a running post on CO2 refills, for those of us who run calcium reactors on our reef tanks, or perhaps use CO2 on our planted tanks.
I just got a 5# bottle filled at a place called Beverage Control, off of Mountian Industrial Blvd in Tucker. The refill was $9.00. The folks there were very nice; I got my tank refilled and was on my way in 10 min...
Anyone else?
- Michael

They refilled my tank...I believe that pressurized tanks have to go through some sort of testing/inspection every 4 years.
I don't know if they exhange bottles, but you can give them a call to ask.

Check Yellowpages.com for Beverage Dispensing Equipment & Supplies (Atlanta, GA is used in the link).
I don't run CO2, but I did used to have a keggereator and I found the cheapest way to go was (usually) an exchange which means you might have to put a deposit down on one of the standard sizes a particular distributor uses. Also, check with your local bars as to where they get refills. Paintball stores that refill tanks will also know where you could get refills.

Welding supply shops carry CO2 (if exchanging tanks works for you)

I use Pye Barker. There's an office off of Beaver Ruin Rd, in the Duluth area. Costs around $15 for a 5lb refill.

I second that Pye Barker location. Great people there. I picked up a nice MIG setup from them a few years ago and they were very helpful and courteous before AND after the sale.
On a related note - wonder how long it will be before the club acquires a CO2 generator.

beverage control has a good price for refills, yes 9.00 for 5 or 10lb canister.
AIRGAS swaps cylinders for 17. for the 5lb think its 19 or 20 for a 10lb,
but after going today, i think i'll be back to airgas next time, as it took longer waiting to fill it. and for me I'm much closer to airgas than i am to beverage control, which means the 8 bucks i saved on the co2, i put in my gas tank... Now when gas was a buck a gallon, then i'd happily drive it.

Thanks Rob. Where's Airgas located or do you have a phone number. Thanks again.
