Charleston Reefers - 1st Annual Membership Drive

Hello All,

I wanted to give everyone in Atlanta the oppurtinity to visit Charleston. Your club is one that I strive to model mine after and I respect everything that has happen in your club. If your reed below, I've been posting this around over on ReefCentral and in the LFS here. We've had a great response locally and are looking for more people to attend. Please RSVP if a group of people decide they can make it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Charleston Reefers Club is proud to be a part of the SC Aquarium’s Special Education Campaign: Gardens of the Ocean: A Special Focus on Reefs. Steve Vogel, SC Aquarium Curator, has graciously volunteered his Saturday afternoon to give everyone that attends a behind the scenes tour of what it takes to run the complex systems at the SC Aquarium.

This event is scheduled for April 19th. and will start at 2PM. You should arrive a little early so you don't miss the tour. The meeting is in the Aquarium's Board Room.

Admission to the Membership Drive is Free. If You Wish to Participate in Anything Other Than the Behind the Scenes Tour, a Group Admission Rate Will Be Available Depending Upon Our Size.

All Aquairums owners, experts, beginners, and curiuos on lookers are completely welcome to participate in the tour.

We're planning to have a small raffle, but as of yet have only a few things to raffle off.

Visit the web page and view the Memebership Drive Flyer for more information.

Again, all marine hobbiest are welcome, Fresh Water and Salt Water. Even you own a little Gold Fish, this is not an event you will forgive yourself for if you miss it.

I Will be meeting everyone down stairs at the security desk and directing you upstairs.

My wife and I are coming down in April, the first week and are planning to tour the Aquarium. It would be nice to meet up with you guys even though the timing is a bit off.

I drove from Atlanta Airport through Augusta Down, I think Hwy 78 to Hwy 17 into Charleston in about 5 hrs. Of course this was at 2AM in the morning and I was not doing the speed limit

Maybe it was less. I hate all those 25 MPH towns on the way LOL I just drove really fast and prayed the head lights weren't a cop coming at me.

But it takes anywhere from 5 hrs to 6 hrs. Not a bad drive

Hope everyone can come.

Yeah, when I lived in Summerville, I would take 78 for Augusta but If I wanted to go to Atlanta, the best route right now is to take 85 north, 385 to Columbia, Hit 26 and go straight into town. I miss Charleston and the night life but gotta go where the bucks are.
