Cast acrylic locally?

Hey guys,

What's the best retail place locally to get cast acrylic sheets in 1/4 or 3/8" thickness? Planning a refuge project and the extruded stuff at Home Depot isn't exactly what I want to use :-)

The few plastics places I've called in the Atlanta area so far seem to be wholesalers. Any good stores locally that will sell scrap pieces or full sized sheets of good stuff to the average consumer? TIA....

I know that Piedmont Plastics will sell to individuals. They're a bit more expensive than others, but they do good work and generally are pretty quick!

GE Polymer Shapes in Austell. That's where I get all my plex, right down the street.

Cool, thanks for the info guys.

Austell is pretty far from me, but there's a Piedmont Plastics about 20 min away from me it appears, so I'll give them a shot.

Thanks again.

You might want to check out some glass shops. I found the prices to be 30% of what home depot was charging and service was in and out.

were you at the April meeting? I have a bunch of acrylic I am trying to get rid of. Let me know the dimensions you need. I probably have enough for a refuge.

I lookedonline at yellowpages.com and came up with a list of over 100 companies that dealt in plastics. But I have had no dealings with any of them. There is also a place that deals in acrylic specifically for aquariums, but again no xp with them.
