Hi Jeff,
Having been to Aquatic Wildlife (the name they now have the rights to use [formerly CBC]) 5 times, they specialize in propagating SPS, but they also have fragged LPSs such as glaxia and blastamosa (sp?) among others.
Aquatic Wildlife is the original name from the early '90s. Since at least the early 90s they have been successfully fragging corals and reselling them to the public.
AW was sold, I believe, twice and then sold for a third time to its current owner (Greg Wilson) about 3+ yrs ago, but he used the CBC name at that time. Within the last 6 mos he acquired the full rights to using the AW name.
AW was originally located in Cleveland, TN and in Aug '02 they moved to their current location. Unfortunately, they lost ~60%+ of their mother colonies and so they are trying to find replacements and reestablish their frag inventory.
Some of the folks at AW have some ties or history with Eric Borneman,
Dana Riddle, and the late Noel Curry of Scientific Corals which was based in N. Atlanta.
In addition to the Atlanta Reef Club having been there officially three times and having been treated exceptionally well each time, the Alabama Reef Club (found on the ReefCentral website under Reef Club Forum) also recently visited them in Feb'03.
In addition, if you do a search on ReefCentral on "
Captive Bred Corals" or "Aquatic Wildlife" you'll learn more about their past, than the present operation.
The folks are nice and they have at least one guy who has an incredible knowledge about corals.
I hope this answers your questions.
Bob
