candy coral spliting?

I have a small, 4 headed, 2 branch frag of candy coral. one of the heads has grown a second mouth. I assume this means that head will split but not sure. seems like it would be a slow process. or is it possible that it will stay as one head with 2 mouths?

Eventually it will split into 2 heads, but it will take several weeks.
