I had one of these in my acros and he was my favorite crab, never bothered a thing. Always just chilled in the coral and was a great janitor. I fed him and he eagerly accepted anything given. He had blue eyes and a fuzzy brown exterior just like yours.

He was in this one particluar acro with one of the star wars storm trooper style crabs, white with one long black eye. The acro died and the two crabs stuck together and wandered the tank for a week. I kept on putting them in other acros but they wouldnt settle.

Feel lucky you got one of this variety Ive never seen another...

I didn't think emerald crabs were that fuzzy. I keep assorted crabs in the main tank until I witness bad behavior. I also feed them a piece of raw shrimp if they come out to get it. So far I haven't taken any out.

He and the coral he lives in were free. The coral was wasting away and someone gave it to me to see if I could save it. It didn't do well at all until I sort of gave up on it and moved it lower in the tank, then it started recovering.....

Cool! That looks like it might color up. I usually break those dead pieces off. They collect bubbles. It's annoying.

That crab has pretty blue eyes.
