Club President
Andy Daiss thanked our host Eden Gardens, an extended stay facility, for the place to meet. They have an empty fish tank which they have offered to us to setup and maintain. Since this location is centrally convenient, we may want to pursue using Eden Gardens as a permanent location. Andy mentioned that future speakers might include
Martin Moe. Tom Wyatt offered to mention our interest to Martin & Barbara.
New Business:
Richard Olgetree will host the next Nano reef meeting on Sunday 23 November in Marietta.
The Board of Directors will meet after that at about 5:30pm on Sunday 23 November. All members are invited. There might be some lengthy discussions as the new officers meet for the first time.
Richard Ogletree, Treasurer, reported that we go into next year with more money than if we had kept all the dues and not spent anything. Really outstanding considering the Calfo event and merchandise raffles during 2003.
Rob Sweet wanted everyone to know that club membership for next year can be renewed on the website using PayPal.
Our Sponsor, Aquarium Showcase is now setup to honor the club's 10% discount. All of our sponsors deserve and appreciate a big "thank you" when you recieve the club discount.
Bob Lemcke has a photo contest for a 2004 club calender open until 6 Dec. Photos are judged in categories of Nano, Inverts, Fish, Big Show Tanks, and Reef. He hopes to finish and distribute the calender in January.
CafePress.com has club logo merchandise on-line, including an attractive coffee mug, mouse pad, and clock.
Dale Eichberg, known on-line as "phishschtick", is our newest Sponsor.
December's meeting will be at MyReef in Lawrenceville.
Elections:
The election of 2004 Officers took two ballots as the choice for President was so evenly matched. At the end, Don Pelino "cyberchef" from Columbus GA was elected President for next year. Ray O'Connor "Ray1214" is to be Vice President, Bob Lemcke "lifestudent" is Treasurer, and Wendy Carella "MsMafia" is to be Secretary. Rob Sweet "robsweet" will contiue as Webmaster and Curtis Wright "wasabi" vounteered to be Sponsor Liason.
Program:
Charles Kuehne brought in his Nano tank and showed off what can be done in a confined space. He had a custon light from Aquaticco and a hang-on-back filter system. Inside it was one large rock with several frags, including a piece of fire coral. I believe there was a Frogspawn and orange Capricornis. Richard Ogletree took photos and they may show up in the ARC Calender.
