April and March Meetings

We are all excited about the MARCH 8th meeting at:

Mt. View Community Center
3350 SANDY PLAINS RD.
MARIETTA, GA 30066
Tuesday March 8th, 7:30PM

-- with William and friends putting on show with SPSs, Nanos, seahorses, and photography -- along with the giving away of a free Nano tank.

In the spirit of trying new things in 2005, one of the last BIG planned meeting events before our Saltwater U extravaganza on May 21st will be our April 12th meeting, where we try to have a double meeting with a SCUBA club:

7:00 PM at Jocks n Jills - Brookhaven (4046 Peachtree Rd) - Note -- this is a half hour earlier than our usual meeting, and it will be CROWDED (the Atlanta Reef Dwellers are smart enough to have dinner at the same time as their meeting).

Just curious if any ARC members on involved with the reefdwellers club?

Not to my knowledge -- I ran into them when we were marketing the Saltwater U -- they happen to meet at the same time as we do, and are organized in a very similar manner. They are the only SCUBA club unaffiliated with a store, and have good relationships with all the other SCUBA clubs (in fact, they list all of them on their website).

I went to one of the BoD meetings (and joined their club) and found out that they have had a very similar set of speakers (e.g. Bruce Carleson, GA Aquarium, etc) plus some others we would be interested in. There is also a possibility of pooling resources for other events in the future. We discussed a joint meeting, but since they have met at their location for 25 years, they were a little hesitant to move....so we are coming to them.

You may see a number of them at the Saltwater U. They are very nice people.
