Matt
It's a little closer than that. He is literally like 20 feet away. I don't know I have emailed him called him, talked to his wife. No response, guess he doesn't want the business??? Or doesn't want to deal with me??
Who knows, I have tried.

Todd,
could be... he's an interesting character. he sold me some cheap scraps of acrylic for my DIY RO/DI container, but I did have to call him a whole lot... lol... who knows. In my conversations with him, he seemed like a really nice guy, offered me a lot of tips too.

Think again...I sent you an email with an acrylic supplier to call...cost will be at least 2.5-3 times what you think with a sump of that size made out of 3/4" cast acrylic...trust me on this one.

I stand corrected...not 2.5-3 times cost of $500... I called Piedmont as a layman to get a quote on 3/4" cast 4x8 sheet (needs 3)...cost was $756 per sheet. Granted companies get a better deal, but not as good as you think. That doesn't count if you get them to cut it to length for you...which they will do for a price. Add in the labor and your time if you build it yourself....
As you can prbably tell, I was the quote for roughly $2000, but now maybe I didn't ask for enough. Good luck with your project.

Man Andy, I did not mention your name here. Did not feel the need to. As I told you I am a guy looking for the best price. If the cost is that, then this will never get built. However, I know this design Was built. LARGER than this one at 1/2 that cost 1 year ago. We will see.
I have no problems with your number other than it is too expensive for my budget. Thats all, I ask your help, in modifications and you did not respond.
I have no hard feelings. If you feel your number is the right one. Great. But I am not buying it. That's all.
Hell - just asking for some help and quotes. That's all.
I am not taking the first number I get and going with it. No one would. That is not good business. I do not do it in construction and I will not do it in my hobby.

Matt

not tonight... I'm going to Jimmy's favorite city...
Margaritaville! Have you tried El Jinette off of 92? It's in the strip mall right at the turn onto sandysprings (I think, and I'm not even sure anyone but me calls it 92)... best margarita's around, imo...
thanks though, I'll be at the meeting this wednessday, maybe we could set up a time then...
have a good one and good luck w/ this sump...
out of curiosity, how complex does this puppy have to be?
Matt

It's not that crazy - square box with dividers in it and a couple ledges. Granted it is not simple but this can be built in a day or 2. It's just big.

Shipping alone would be about $250-300...so still looking at $1300-$1400 material before labor. No hard feelings, just wanted to make sure people know acrylic builders don't make tons O' money on things like that. I wish we did...

None taken here. Not trying to do anything but try to get a product in my budget. Cause then I have to add BIG pumps, piping, the list goes on.
