Announcing new ARC cards!
After a lot of discussion, I'm happy to announce that we've finally got some new ARC cards on the way. These aren't your laminated, inkjet printed cards of yesteryear, but brand-new plastic cards that you can show off to your friends, family, and sponsors with pride!
Get yours today by Paypal'ing or otherwise joining the ARC club for the 2006 year. Hurry! Offer expires Dec 31, 2006.
Joking aside, we really do have the new cards coming, and the above image comes directly from the printers (Pam happened to be the first one in our list of names). Thanks to Sarah Kruger for the design. They'll be the same size and thickness of a regular credit card. The initial batch of cards are being printed and embossed now, and will be ready by mid-January. New cards will be embossed in batch every month or so throughout the year.
Because there will be a slight delay in getting your cards, please use your Paypal receipt as proof of membership when at sponsor stores until you receive your card.
Please re-join sooner rather than later to have your card printed. If you plan to join soon, but are getting Paypal or a check squared away, send a PM or email to lifestudent, and we can add your name to the initial batch; the card will be held until we receive membership dues.

Also please place in the comments section in PayPal or send me an email if the PayPal registrant's name is not the same as the person joining! 
I've already had a few instances where someone was paying with PayPal and the name of the PayPal registrant will be different from the name on the ARC Card (e.g. a PayPal registrant is paying for their spouse or their child and wants the card in that other person's name).

Lookin gooood! Now that is an ARC card worth showing off--props to its creator(s).
One question, though: if we earned a free membership for a winning calendar entry, do we still pay via paypal for a renewed membership?

Oops! I forgot to give credit to Sarah Kruger, our Artistic Coordinator, for the design. I thank her for her patience while I changed my mind 100 times through the process.... there are a bzillion options, and most had to be dropped due to cost. We wanted to put the sponsors and their phone numbers on the back, but 25 sponsors were just too many to be legible. We wanted to use a sticker to update the card, but that proved too difficult to manage. etc, etc.
If you earned a free entry, then your membership will be automatically renewed for next year, and there's no need to send in payment (unless you want to donate money to the club ). |
