Algae scraper & acrylic tanks

OK, this is probably a silly question, but I've got to ask...

I've got my acrylic tank setup and running now. Can I safely use the algae scraper I used on my glass tank? It's velcro on one side and a cloth-type material on the outside.

Just didn't want to scratch anything.

thanks,
Chris

Chris,

That should be fine. I had a problem with the razor blade type but not those.

I'm not sure I would do that.

Most scrapers made for glass will scratch acrylic and by the time you figure this out it's too late.

They do make special scrapers for acrylic. I would try and find one of those. Better safe than sorry.

mag-float magnet cleaners are available in a white version made for glass and a blue version made for acrylic. I would use the blue and not chance scratching your tank.

Plastic credit cards work well. Use the maxed out ones.
