125 Pics: Dec 04 - Current and The Welso Eating

December - Christmas!

Mid January

Mid February

May

5 Months Old - Check out the corraline growth on the back glass!

Center Shot

I'm experimenting with a 10K DE bulb in the middle and 14K's on the ends. I seem to be getting better growth with the 10K bulb, but I like the look of the 14k's better.

Here's the welso pigging on some mysis.

I really like the aquascaping. Its nice to see the "caves" from the stacked rocks while still having a lot of coral to look at. *Two thumbs up*

Is it bleaching (i.e., expelling zooxanthellae) or is there tissue necrosis?

Regardless, it's likely due to some kind of stressor (difficult to say). Some species are hardier than others. Could be a light change, water parameter change, etc.

I recently QT'd a green millepora colony and used 20x the dose (didn't measure the medicine carefully) and it expelled it's zoox within 3 hours - turned dark green to bright white. The tissue was still there, but with no zoox to support it, the tissue slowly died within a week.

I just realized the finish and decorations of the canopy. I like it a lot. Did you make it? If not, whered did you buy it?

Thanks - I made the canopy out of 1x12 material. My wife picked out the thing (forget what it's called) in the middle. I just stained it and glued it on.
