Discussion of the week ~Duct Tape~

As requested by Doug this weeks topic is Duck tape. It could be the single most important peice of reefing equipment! Is it really called duck tape?. Is it from this planet or was it a gift from the Gods? How can we use it? What are our experences, good, bad, and unusual?

Lets here it folks tell us what u know.

Spanky no kinky stories please

Mike

[edit note:for the sake of my sanity I (Brooke) have changed Duck to DucT in the title of this thread]

Duck tape is great.
"Duck" brand adhesive tape is great..
Duct tape is great,

and arguably proof of the Divine in human achievements.

See here:
http://www.octanecreative.com/ducttape/duckvsduct.html

They say Finns and Swedes call it "Jesus Tape".
'Nuff said.

Ahhhhhhhh. Good ol' speed tape. Got a problem. You can always, if only temporarily, fix it with duct tape.

Kinky stories eh? Bring 'em on. What's a talk about duck tape without a kinky story thrown in?

You first, Reedman .

Duct tape is king. I've used it in many applications, however, I must admit, never in an aquarium setting. Hmmmmm.... I might have some ideas, though

Now if I can only figure out why it will stick to something once, but not another time I would be set. If you can get it to stick for 24 hours then it ain't commin off.

I got plenty of stories about duct tape, but none with the tank.

Duck Tape® !!

As I recall, I mentioned several books in our library about the silver wonderment!

Actually, I do have a question... why won't the tape stick on the ballast for my 2 x 55 PC's? I guess it's fiber board inside the metal casing that appears to be exposed and could shed? Sigh...of course, it's too late to go get a pic (like I go to bed early...) to describe it better. The tape sticks on other areas of the the lighting area, but not there.

Hmmm...maybe you didn't want a real question

Just a few things about duct tape....

1. The milatary uses it secure jeep drivelines, and helicoptor blades while in the field...how would you like to be the heli pilot knowing all that is keeping you alive is a roll of duct tape.

2. it will also get rid of warts...put a piece of tape on the wart and remove after about a week, and keep doing it till it goes away...sometimes it can take up to 2 monthes...its the lack of oxygen that kills the wart
