Bi weekly Discusion--- Flow part 2
Well Gang ,
we just had a really long bi weekly on Flow. we covered a lot of things.( you will find it and many more in the archive section!)
I would like to continue on with Flow, but go in a different direction.
What are ways to have flow in our tanks and systems?
i figure we can get a list and break them down.

I did see a tank run just by air
it was about 90-120 gal tank, with a very large closed loop system
the water exsited out the right side of the tank
thendown and under
to a large protien skimmer with an algea scrubber at the top
the air bubbles would pull the water throught the closed loop

I believe most all powerheads could generally be described as devices consisting of a sealed electronic motor that electro-magnetically drives a propeller/impeller affixed to a magnetic shaft.
The two main types (that currently come to mind) would be differentiated by the water propulsion device they use:
Some are directional and use a propeller type device (Like the Hydor Koralia in the first picture) while others are multidirectional and use a flat bladed impeller of some sort (Like the MaxiJet in the second picture).

I think so, we shouold have beat Kelli to the answer
PH's are an econimical way to move water with no filtering effect
the pro's are
1) cheap
2) easy to place
3) easy to move
con's
1) can be difficult to get int he spot you want
2) should be cleaned often
3) beak down
