Actually Doug there's nothing to do. I've cleaned the glass about three times in the past three months.
I run the skimmer wet, so nothing is coated on the inside of the skimmer to clean.
I add Ca and buffer, no water changes so far.
Biggest pain now is taking the becket apart and cleaning the Ca deposits out of it and I do that only when the air intake valve is open all the way. I've had to do that once in the past three months
Figure it this way. This is the way we have always done it in the labs. Biologists are not interested in cleaning tanks or understanding how they work (they are above it), so it has to not only be easy but pretty much self sufficient.

No coralline on the starboard yet? Or did you scrape it off?
About running your skimmer wet, how often do you dump the waste collector?
 to a beautiful reef!

Yeah, seriously, how can you expect to have healthy animals when you have nothing producing planktonic foods for them, just like in the wild. Ridiculous. Ludicrous.
Excuse me while I go back to falling off my log.

I'm in the business of growing corals not selling fish food.
