New 400 is finally on the stand!
Wooohoooo, the new 400 gallon tank is finally on the stand. It is a custom 400 (really 392). The dimensions are 84x36x30, with a 3" brace around the entire tank and a 12" center brace. The two openings are 33x30 on top. Dual overflows that are 10x10 and 6 1 1/2" bulkhead opening in the back for two closed loops using AM 3000's. The return will also be a AM 3000 pushing out of two 1" SS. I am using two 1 1/2" Spears electric 3 way ball valves on the closed loops to move the water around the tank. A friend of mine (BRW) is making me a wave timer for the ball valves so I can increment the motion and even have a night sensor so they valves don't operate. Below are a few pics.....I built the stand out of 4x4's and 2x6" and 3/4" plywood. Another friend had the doors made and sprayed the finish on. I will be using two 400 watt 20k Radiums and a 6 foot triple 250 watt DE Aqualine Buschke lighting. 640 pounds of Southdown in the tank and 100 pounds in the refugium/sump.
I am using 150 pounds of Marshal rock...thanks JennM. I am also using about 70pounds of Fiji. I don't like a ton of rock....I am planning on building two islands of rock work and have open space for large fish and lots of nooks and crannies for small fish.
My sump is a refugium/sump combo where the refugium still has slow flow though it.
The openings on top.....

Cha ching! That's the cat's meow Andy. I may have to take a field trip out to document the event live.

There are 6 bulkheads in the back of the tank. Three each for two sets of closed loops. The one in the middle is the inlet for the loop and the other two are the outlets. The lower outlet will be flow that I will place in and near the rock work. The top one will be upper flow.....These outlets will not be on at the same time too much. The 3 way ball valves will alternate which ones are on, to give random flow in the tank......

Gorgeous, Andy!
Everything about it looks first class! Almost a shame to mess it up with all those rocks, sand, water, and stuff!
