Time has arrived DSB no more!
Well guys wish me luck Im tanking down my reef tomorrow and removing all the dirty sand,I have my containers and wetvac poised and ready,Im joining the Spanky group! No more DSBs

are you bare bottoming it, starboarding it, or a thin layer of sand? how did you keep the rocks for rocking?

If you 've got a couple days to devote to reading and a phd, goto the think tank and check out the limitations of a DSB thread. If that isn't enough, I know that there's at least 1 mre in there.

I will be bare bottoming it guys,I will keep the rocks from moving by very careful placement  I dont want anything on the botom that can hold dirt

There is a LFS here that has been bare bottom for at least ten years. They have green star polyps almost completely covering the bottom of the tank. It looks like a lawn. Very cool.
