Miracle Mud??

Is miracle mud worth the cost? I was sold on this by my LFS and have always wondered whether or not it is nessacery. Can anyone shed any light on this subject? The only info I have found on the internet was published by the vendor. Thoughts on this in regards to other subsrate for a refugium?

Never tried it, but alot of threads I've read on the subject basicly believe it's just mudd.

Well, if I remember right, it's dug up from a "secret location in a canyon in California" so....

People who use it in conjunction with a refugium grow great macro....then again...

...I think it's just mud.

LOL

IMO, my $.02 and all the standard disclaimers

Personally I don't think it's that much of a miracle. I don't think it hurts anything and the extra elements probably are better for the Macro Algae....... but I'm not sold. That's my half a cent!

I currently have a 50 gallon sump half is a refugium with about 2 inches of sugar sized sand a piece of live rock and a couple types of algae. Its working great so far. I also run a powerful skimmer and feed a little heavy.
