Wow what a diverse group of people. Glad to meet you All.
Hey Reefguy I wonder if you are in the Company I was in prior to the company I am in.
I worked for Lockheed Martin in Moorestown NJ working on the AN BSY2 nuclear submarine project and then to work with the S/W part for phased arrays for Aegis battleships and then did the graphic displays for the Operation Readiness Tactical Systems dept (ORTS).In my future job I just want to scuba dive in the summer and ski in the winter and make 6 figures. Anyone know where I can find a job like that???
PS My wife says and spend alot of time with our up coming baby due in March, Anastasia.
Take Care. GO STEELERS

mikep-

a college buddy of mine was hazed to now end for pursuing what everyone else called that "worthless" or "what are you gonna do with THAT?!" degree of parks and recreation management. what he does is spend his summers in alaska guiding nature hikes and his winters in the bahamas teaching scuba diving. i don't think he particularly cares that he isn't making six figures.

As far powder coating goes...we sub-contract that work out to a local company...shouldn't cost all that much

Crane Erection

Thats right, I work for the Largest crane company in the US, Maxim Crane Works. Not a bad living. Pays for my new hobbie, if my wife only had a clue what I got in the tank already.

Great crowd! I'm general counsel and compliance officer for a bank in Solvang, CA. I keep (try to, at least) us out of trouble with the public and the regulators.

Alice is director of the learning skills program at a private high school in the area.

Drew - I recently retired as a major in the Army - mostly reserves. The military can be a great career and you should talk with a recruiter about officer candidate school (OCS) if you want to be an officer but don't have your college degree. You can also look at some of the warrant officer positions.

I have one of your posters on my office at work. The one with the drawings of the monster looking germs. I called them up and asked for it and they sent it. I work for the state health department.

I am a CNC machinist.
I take a chunk of metal and turn it into something useful. I make parts for everything from fire nozzles for the U.S. Navy to vapor recovery nozzles for gas pumps(there is a very good chance that when you put gas in your car or truck you are using parts that I made) I have made parts for the tomahawk cruise missile, stinger missile, and space shuttle.
Right now I am working on parts for commercial and military jet aircraft.
Don't worry, I hold tight tolerances and no defective aircraft parts leave my machine

I'm a drug dealer (legal one). It's nice since it supports this new, expensive addiction/habit/hobby of mine...

Wow! This is a diverse grouping.

My wife, four kids, dogs, cats, tank (soon to be tanks), perpetual home remodeling, and even more perpetual BMW 2002 restoration leave just enough time to play Technology Manager for Deschutes County and CIS Director for the City of Redmond, Oregon.
