Hi Doug, all! My name is JEff, and I've been going toward reef for about 4 1/2 years now, and have had my share of successes and setbacks. I fall heavily into the 'tinker' type, and am very much a DIY person.

I have a 58reef ready with 20 gal of 'sump' that is more of a refugium and about 100lb live rock. My current level of life in tank is low, as we recently moved, and I am still recovering from a severe crash last year.

Hi All
My name is Andrew and I found your site from another BB. I have seen Doug post there several times. My girlfriend and I are in the process of building a reef tank from her old fish only. She had kept fish only for 9 years before having a major breakdown. I went with her to the LFS and got hooked on reef systems(no money for anything else) . After she bought some more fish, I talked her into adding live rock. We have a 55 gallon tank with 25 gallon sump. We are adding between 5 and ten lbs every two weeks(with water change)and removing 5 bioballs every time. Now we are up to 25lbs. As far as fish and inverts (she still wants some fish) we have a pajama cardinal(who may be finding a new home soon since he has developed a taste for red legged reef hermits, he ate 2 in 2 days after having them for a month, he is the only survivor of the fish only breakdown), 2 bar gobies (1 large 1 small and are inseperable), 2 neon gobies, 1 blood red shrimp, 1 arrow crab, 2 feather dusters, 1 purple tip aneomne, 1 brittle star(pink) and 1 bristle star ( who we suspect is getting eaten by the cardinal) , and a host of live rock creatures( a bunch of crabs that we are weeding out slowly). Boy its getting crazy in there . So after reading a couple of books, going to 4 different LFS, and asking you guys on BBs, I have decided I still know next to nothing.

I might as well bring this back up with my contribution. I am currently VERY close to setting up my 245 gallon reef. It has been 2 years in the making and collecting of equipment. I look forward to actually posting and be able to answer questions regarding actual livestock soon . I had a FO for 5 years that was taken down and sold last spring when I moved. This is definately a great board and it is even better seeing the number of members and traffic growing so quickly lately.
