who has a strawberry pseudo in their tank?
im doing an unofficial survey of who keeps a strawberry pseudochromis in their main tank and if so, what other tankmates they keep with it and whether they seem to terrorize anybody (other fish, shrimps, snails, crabs, whatever), and whether they regret putting one in. I have a strawberry pseudo in his own little 10g by himself with one snail. he used to live with my sailfin and maroon clown and scooter dragonet; he did nip fins of scooters tail and maroons tail, but that was in a 20g tank and he didnt all out attack to kill anyone. I would like to know the odds of him getting along with everyone in the 55. as if I need another fish in there. but I am going to be able to upgrade to my 120 here in a couple months. Id rather have a trial run of it in the 55 since if it doesnt work out, I can remove him when I break down the 55 to upgrade to the 120. anyways, answer away!
ps current inhabitants are sailfin tang, gramma, assessor, scooter, 3 chromis, maroon clown, 2 pepps, 2 cleaners, hermits and assorted soft corals. plenty of nooks and crannies for everyone to call home (well thats my opinion, it might not be the fish's!)

Yeah, we call em Strawberry Dottybacks... And no it doesnt have any dots so dont ask
Ours is not aggressive in the slightest, he is very inquisitive and great to watch. As far as we can tell he appears be fully grown as well.
Tank mates are 2 O. Clowns, 1 bicolour blenny and 1 high fin blenny.
He has never attacked our snails either.
Maybe yours is just a mean bastad!

I have one also and in fact you rarely see him. H disappeared on me for about a week and a half and he finally showed up today all beat up real bad tail is torn to shreds and his fins are torn up also. I actually caught him very easily and put him in the fuge. Beautiful fish I hope he makes it.

I have had one in my 135 for about 3 years. He is very bold and aggressive toward new additions. I compare him to a small terrier. However, after the initial territory issues are settled he doesn't seem to harrass his tankmates.
My advice would be to add him after you have added other fish.

francblack, wow, what do you have in there that could have done that kind of damage? every once in a while one of my fish will have a little chunk taken out of their tail and I have no idea what could be doing it in my tank either.

the only other fish I might consider getting in the 120 on top of what I already have is a purple tang and maybe a lawnmower blenny. I dont think a pseudo could terrorize either of those two, do you guys think?

As long as they are a decent size they should be fine.
We hope
