unofficial poll: how big is/are your tang(s)?
I was just curious what the average size of people's tangs are in captivity, would like to know also how many people have raised one to full size in captivity (respective of genus/species)...

Tangs are chill
Here we go
Naso Tang (Nacho) 5.7"
Sailfin Tang (Shannon) 1.9"
Regal Tang (Dory "my sisters fish allright) 4.3"
Kole Tang (Baden) 3.8"
Belive it or not while the Naso Tang is the ring leader the meanest is the sailfin, they all like eachother though
tank is about 160 gallons
At my LFS I don't think they have many tangs they have raised to full size that were born in captivity but they have a 3 foot spotted puffer they raised from about a inch long, the beak on that sucker...whooo.....I wouldn't put my hand in the tank

he fed his tank a fairly large amount of food. Mostly it was frozen cube. The frozen food of choice was Reef Stroganoff. The fish went crazy for it. My fish loved it too. But he had a 135 so his fish got larger.
I was in Co Springs for 12 years. I loved it. But I've been gone from there for 6 years and I have gone back.... but I don't think I would want to live in Colorado Springs any longer... although Pueblo would still be nice.

Nope it was something bought at the lfs in Colorado Springs. I haven't seen it down here although I always ask and look when I go to any lfs in this state. But I've never had fish attack any food like that one.

theres not really a contest. well kinda, I just wanted to know who's seen the biggest tang in captivity raised by a hobbyist
(ulterior motive: want to know how big my tangs would actually get under my care; if they will get as big as the ones in the wild, although I would guess probably not since I cant duplicate their varied diet and large quarters in the ocean...not that I wont try my best to take care of them though!)
