two morays?

I've posted this question on the Atlanta Reef Club board here at TRT and on Reefcental so I appologize if you've tripped over this once or twice already, but I need an answer to this question...

I think I've gone moray crazy. After years of resisting their alure I bought a small snow flake moray (Echidna nebulosa) from Jenn. And I'm in love with it. Now I want a cheetah (or peppered) moray (siderea picta) that she has for sale. Can I keep the two of them together in a 75 gallon reef tank or am I just asking for trouble.

Cheers...Michael

in the book that i have by scott michael, he states:
snowflake eel~normally mind-manneredm it can become pugnacious when food is present, and a larger specimen may occasionally latch on to a fellow tankmate. . . . . can be kept with other eels, but a resident specimen may attack a newly introduced conspecific, and cannabalism is occasionally reported.

but i would think that 2 eels would get along ok, as long as there is ample hiding places.you might want to create like a pvc habitrail out of 2~3" pvc pipe, if ya haven't already.

Michael, yup it can be done,BTW could this be the same eel Jenn posted about earlier?

Like was posted b4 me, eels can be ornery toward each other when hungry AND at feeding time, my snowflake is blind in it's only eye,and plain missing the other , from tussles with my other eel,,,,biggest problem is both wanting the same food offering,,,not pretty
had both of mine in a 180 for over 15 yrs...they tried , but they ain't killed each other yet,,,
keep em fed ,and feed each away from the other, and you oughta be ok,,,,no promises tho,,,

You can have many more than two together. You want to try to keep them the same size. Also, keep in mind if you feed live foods, it will make them much more aggressive. I had a tank with 4 morays. One, a tessalada sp? Was larger than the other three. One day i was missing the smaller eel. And I noticed that the tessalada wasvery fat. Other than that, I had them all together for years.
