Spotted garden eel

Does anyone have info on these? Heteroconger hassi, I believe? The LFS has two small ones. I've seen pictures of them and they look really cool, but I can't find info. Will they mess up my DSB? or eat all my pods? Also, there is a lot of current in my tank (125gal).. will they do OK with that?

Thanks--
John

Hello,

I had two of them a long time ago and could not keep them fed. They like live food, pods, and such. Even though they burrow down and stick their heads up, they didn't mess anything up. I had them in very low current, DSB, not enough pods or knowledge...another of my mistakes... I raised brine shrimp, which they ate, but it wasn't enough.

Ive recently seen some at my LFS too. I was interested until everyone advised me against them. Fromwhat I heard the need an 8-10 inch sand bed, they eat pods and will get picked on by just about any fish. They are neat looking though.

Notoriously difficult. They require a very deep DSB, on the order of a foot deep or so. Very finicky eaters. Also known for being collected with cyanide
