sharp nosed puffer

I have a sharp nosed puffer, exactly like MontanaRockinReefer's, who currently resides in a 55 fowler, my wife wants him to be in the 100 reef, but when he is in there, my green open brain won't open. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks in advance

Hey Goober! As much as I love my puffer I plan on taking him back to the LFS or have a FOWLR tank to put him in when I upgrade to a 125 reef tank.
I am sure the puffer is nipping at the clam and mine loves to go after snails, shrimp, etc. They need to keep their teeth worn down and will nibble on coral, etc. They are not "reef safe". Save yourself the trouble of later trying to remove him from a reef tank. Johnny

P.S. I have personally watched my puffer bite into my open brain and eventually cause it's demise!

In order to keep their continuously growing teeth in check, even the sharpnosed spp must occasionally graze rock to wear the teath down. This includes many of the stony corals, as the puffer may choose to have a little dinner before burshing it's teeth...
